Well, this is a bit belated, but I have to write it anyway because damn, did I have a good time at Genrecon last weekend!
If you weren’t at Genrecon, where the heck were you? Great first year con, superb management and friendly volunteers… what more could you ask for? Plus, I had some truly amazing conversations about the intersection of fandom and gender that I’ve never had anywhere else. Shoutouts to JM Frey, Lisa (I still have your business card and want to talk buttons sometime soon) Kerri, Edward, and Robert the bookselling guy! And, of course, all of the usual suspects… you know who you are. 😉
In addition, although there were some renovation hiccups early on, it was a good choice of hotel. Nice and close to all the amenities, even for non-drivers! Good show!
In other news, the anthology I’ve been considering for the last few months is looking like it’s going to go ahead sometime in the late spring, early summer. And as such… for the very first time, we’re going to be open to submissions! Guidelines will be coming along very soon, as will progress on my film (in case you’ve been wondering why it’s been so dead around here, of late) aaaaaaaaand, a new things I love post, about a brand new love: Avatar: The Last Airbender! (Yes, yes, I know I never get to things when everyone else does, but I just finished the series and have to throw in my two cents!)
And so, in conclusion, go to Genrecon next year. Be there, or be square. 😛
