Well, it’s been a few weeks, but now I’m back in the saddle and ready for more writing and publishing action! In a few words, Disney World was everything we could have hoped for and more. With the exception of a few minor annoyances along the way, and certainly much less aggravation than the average vacation, we spent our days relaxing, loving one another, and drinking in the Disney. However, I will say that Disney had some unexpected prophylactic properties in Robin… all those screaming kids didn’t exactly leave him eager to have a family. Not that I’m planning one either… but you know.
In other news, I’m heading back to animation school as of tomorrow, for what is reported to be the most demanding year in an already demanding program… group film year. To summarize, for the majority of the year I will be randomly matched with ten or eleven other classmates, most of them complete strangers, and together we will be expected to complete an animated short film. Realistic to the industry? Possibly. Horrible at times? Probably that too, and much, much more. At any rate, I’m expecting loads of surprises, not all of them pleasant.
I will still be running the company while school is on, and attending appearances and sales throughout the year, but I just want to make the announcement that I will be dealing with other priorities as well, just in case communications etc. grow a little slow at sticky times of the semester.
The other announcement that I want to make is about the print copy of Flood Waters Rising, and the delays that have arisen at the manuscript formatting stage. I’ve had no end of delays that I didn’t get resolved before going on honeymoon despite my best efforts, and so I’m currently looking at some slightly different printing arrangments.
For those of you in the US, that means that the Amazon version might take a little longer to come out than the ones I’m shipping to bookstores and selling by hand, but fear not: if you’ve requested an ARC from me, I will mail you one of the copies I have printed and there will be no more delay than it takes for me to switch printers.
That’s all for now, but keep reading! I’ll be back soon!
